Here some advices on major shopping centres of Budapest.

We offer strategic accommodations close to these shopping areas.

For Commercial centres lovers, visit the WestEnd Shopping Centre closet o the Nyugati Station (very interesting also from an architectural point of view) and the Mammut in Moszka ter. (Close, you can find our Apartment PaganiniApartment Opera Romantica).

Váci utca is a street full of shops, mainly souvenir shops, jewelleries, boutique. Here you can find also wine bars with the famous Hungarian wines, to buy or taste.

Coven Markets

To buy souvenirs, I suggest to go to the Big Coven Market, in Fovam Ter (close to the Apartment Caruso and Apartment Tosca). In Budapest, there are other Coven Markets, smaller, but less full of tourism. Here below the other addresses

The Coven Market of Hold street, closet o the Parliament.

The Coven Market of Rákóczi square, in the VIII district. Very popular, Very few tourists.

The Coven Market of Hunyadi square, in the VI district (few meters from our Apartment Puccini). Here there is also a very famous shop of high quality food products.

The Coven Market of Klauzál square, in the VII district, in the Hebrew quarter.

In the I district, there is the Coven Market of Batthyány square. Renovated in 2003, this big market has a well known café, some boutiques and shops on the first floor, and offers a very nice view on the city and the Parliament.

The Market of antiquities
For antiquities lovers, Budapest offers a fascinated open air market: the market of Ecseri. It's better to visit this market on Saturdays (it is open also in the other days, but only in the morning). Old paintings, books, furniture, arms, lamps, and other small things. Good prices.
Do not miss to visit the Falk Miksa street, full of antiquities shops since 1990.

Some typical Hungarian produts:

1. Tokaj
this is a very famous wine from the Tokaj area. White wine, with a lot of varieties. To drink cold.

2. Unicum (bitter)

3. Red Paprika from Szeged
(the paprika comes originally from America, but it's widely used in the typical Hungarian cooking)

4. Prints
Hungary is known also for its famous Hungarian photographers. You can find some copies in black and with in the Nagymez bookshop.

5. Opera from Ferenc Liszt

6. Hungarian porcelain
the Hungarian porcelains are famous all over the world. The Zsolnai and Herendi porcelains are very nice objects to decorate the house. You can buy it in Andrassy utca shop. Also the lead crystals are very good souvenirs and can be found at Haas e Czejk.

7. Sausage Pick Téliszalámi e Gyulai kolbász (sausage)
