" Opera Romantica is a 40 square meters apartment, composed by a separate kitchen, a bathroom with shower, bidet and wc, a wardrobe room, and a big room with 4,5 height ceiling: on the comfortable gallery is located a double bed, while the rest of the room is a wide living-room with a big double sofa bed, a table with chairs, and 2 extra large windows facing the silent and fresh inner court. Due to the big walls of this historic building, this apartment is always fresh and you don't need air conditioning in hot season. Maybe you need a small blanket in September.
Opera Romantica apartment is the first apartment I bought in Budapest, when Dunaflat didn't exist and when I didn't know to love so much Budapest. It was love at first sight. O Utca, the street with the shorter name in the world, in English it means O Street, is located between the Opera House and Hajós Utca, in my opinion one of the most fascinating streets of Budapest, in the centre of Terézváros, the bohemian district of the city. Some days, mainly in summer, you can hear the music coming from the Opera.
The apartment is located in an historic building of the centre of Budapest, built in 1904 by Schaunen Erno, one of the most famous architects of Hungary. This building has been completely restored in 2011 and for sure it will impress you for its incomparable beauty.
In the morning, if you like to prepare a good breakfast at home for your fiancée, go out, turn right and go to the metro stop of Arany János: here at Princess you can buy good hot brioches. Or, you can go out together and have your breakfast at Café Chagall in Hajós Utca (turn left and then turn left again). Here there is free WiFi connection. Or you can go to the elegant Callas (here very good brioches), in front of the Opera Theatre, 100 meters from the apartment, or a little bit further on Andrássy, go to Muvész Café, the café where the Princess Sissy used to go. In the night, walk along the streets of your central district, beneath café, restaurants, disco. Do not forget to go once to Café Bouchon in Zichy Jeno Utca 33, one of the best restaurant for Hungarian cooking.
